Degen

The default token should always be $DEGEN, it’s way more fun and widely distributed on Farcaster. The mini-apps completely miss the point of tipping culture. 4chan had Litecoin, Reddit had Dogecoin, and we have Degen. Stop trying to fight it.

If the people don’t want to tip in $DEGEN, why should they? You should tip in the token that you most identify with.

If the fight is “Farcaster can only have one community token win” then I will fight. Makes no sense, and isn’t the model I want to promote.

All the other Farcaster tokens either rugged or fizzled out, Degen’s the only one still standing and actively supporting the ecosystem. If you’d rather back a random pump-and-dump over real community value, that’s your call. Just don’t be surprised when Degen keeps winning.

Do you specifically mean tokens launched spring the same time as degen? 

Because clanker, bnkr, native, bracky, indexy, etc. were all launched on Farcaster and are still going strong

my thinking here is that those are product/protocol tokens more than community tokens

We had some really great token projects here last year too, but all of them fizzled out, just sayin’. Not hating on our current cohort, since I think they’re backed by some great devs, but so was the last one.
