Degen

The default token should always be $DEGEN, it’s way more fun and widely distributed on Farcaster. The mini-apps completely miss the point of tipping culture. 4chan had Litecoin, Reddit had Dogecoin, and we have Degen. Stop trying to fight it.

If the people don’t want to tip in $DEGEN, why should they? You should tip in the token that you most identify with.

If the fight is “Farcaster can only have one community token win” then I will fight. Makes no sense, and isn’t the model I want to promote.

and i'm totally fine with that, build all the tokens you want, experiment, innovate, go wild. but while degen is the dominant token right now, why not make it the default in mini apps? like literally swap out usdc for degen, get the flywheel spinning. if another token comes along and does something cooler, great, make that one the default then. but what i don’t get is usdc being everywhere on farcaster, support your own ecosystem first.

I'm not denying that Degen is worth more than all of those tokens, I just disagree with the mentality.

This is like saying "incumbents already won, don't try to build another startup." We should encourage more people to try things, experiment, and try to build token and community value. 

To discourage that is categorically wrong.

All the other Farcaster tokens either rugged or fizzled out, Degen’s the only one still standing and actively supporting the ecosystem. If you’d rather back a random pump-and-dump over real community value, that’s your call. Just don’t be surprised when Degen keeps winning.

Just use the token associated with my bags because I said so.  If you don’t you’re missing the point.

Agree with this vision, that why I built it multi chains from the start and users opt-in / out of the chains. 
You can for example setup only Solana address and receive only SOL or USDC there if that’s your wish.
I personally don’t like receiving just any tokens, given there is yet to be an efficient way to clean them all out in 1 Tx.
