Ok officially through Keto week one. Here are my thoughts. Totally off the cuff. This shit is more annoying than veganism by far. I love to cook and this has been a unique challenge but needing to cook everything is a hassle (meal prep or plan could solve this). I have discovered some items that I actually prefer over their carb-loaded counterparts. I look slightly leaner apparently (have had a few close friends mention unsolicited) even in a short period. Farmer’s market sucks on Keto. It’s just a nightmare of temptation and smells that make you wanna throw yourself from a high point. Hunger cycles are way more frequent. Lethargy is real (apparently this wanes over time as your body gets used to burning fat rather than carbs). Dehydration is also way more common. Electrolytes are a necessity. The cravings do subside slightly over time but I would rather give up drinking than bread, pasta, and rice (and have, way easier). Even when I inevitably quit this masochistic endeavor, I will be way more aware of how much sugar and carbs I’m consuming. Fuck this shit tho fr.

Tbh normal. My go to snack are beef jerky and the grass fed beef equivalent of slim jims Biggest lever for me though was managing my salt depletion in the mornings. There are many hydration pack options, but the cheapest is def to roll your own stack

I managed to stick with carnivore for a month and then slowly added some carbs back When I thought about it more I didn’t value arbitrarily eating no carbs. I like eating less sugar. I like thinking more clearly during the work day. I like eating higher quality whole foods
