I've thought about this, and there's no similar gesture that this could be mistaken for... it's pretty unequivocally a nazi salute and anybody saying it isn't is coping. This Roman salute stuff is nonsense as well, nobody knows what that is.

Anybody who did this and didn't intend for it would have apologized & explained that wasn't their intention. He hasn't

The “Roman Salute” was adopted by Mussolini in Italy in the 1920s. Then after, was adopted by Hitler, in Germany.  Same salute, which may not have actually been historically accurate to begin with.
