You develop patience, deal with sleep deprivation, learn to be frustrated yet stay calm, ... all essential to raise a healthy child.

Thinking more on this, it might be the type of thing to encourage in youth groups. Push the BSA, 4 H, etc to encourage training dogs.

Indeed, it's not doable, but it would be very good and get many to prepare more properly resulting in fewer fucked up kids due to unprepared parents
