Here is why I love web3 communities. It seems like the dominant metaphor for digital interactions elsewhere is an "addiction" metaphor. "How can we manage this addiction?" Whenever I meet people in web3, I hear a positive vision about how digital experiences can enhance life by taking back control.

Yeah, second that: rent a car. It is hard to get anywhere far in Quintana Roo without one, and parking tends to be easy in most places.

Absolutely check out the Cenotes. If you're a diver there are a few you can dive in (there is even one you can dive with an Open Water license) Other than that, I just always try to consume as much ceviche as humanly possible!

The solution is to focus on solving specific problems rather than focusing on making the "tech" more "accessible." Good product experiences tend to start with "exploratory" UX research, then letting UX strategy drive product decisions :)

I haven't seen as much movement on trend 2: most of the projects I've run into this year are still focused on building either user experiences for individuals, or online communities for web3 natives. I'd love to hear if anyone is working on projects that use web3 principles to solve problems for existing communities.

Looking back from November 2023, I think that "Trend 1" is starting. I've used several web3 apps lately and the "social" experiences are improving dramatically. Teams are starting to infuse web2-style usability into web3 infrastructure and principles. Social protocols are a big part of what is making this possible.
