real talk why didn’t short form text social spur a poetry renaissance? feels like a content medium that could’ve flourished as a result of the rise of bite sized content feeds 🤔

Philosophers like Han argue that it's because we've started to use language in the neoliberal paradigm aka it's supposed to be efficient for something (even if to increase our status on socials) but not to be used for play - which poetry is. that is more broad, but might have contributed to no renaissance.

^this type of language play is what i would classify early shitposting as. but even shitposting as play has become "efficient" (╥_╥) (prolific shitposters become celebrities etc) social media has the habit of commodifying play which, following this logic, is anti-poetic https://warpcast.com/riotgoools/0x55b2da9c
