Some CEOs, notably Shopify recently mandated the use of AI. Predictably the Internet thought it was cringe or unfair or however the internet responds without complete information. But last week I was talking to a friend who is long time at Stripe and he was telling me about a the hurdles of trying to use AI internally at Stripe, which most people think is an innovative company. Imagine how much harder it is elsewhere. 

So when a CEO mandates the use of AI they are trying to give people a way to cut through the red tape. If it is a mandated part of your job, you have a better argument against your legal and security teams and those teams are now mandated to figure it out and quickly.
