I think it’s some kind of USB, 
It's use for computer and it can  determine the port number with some functions of the FTDI DLL file. 
With that it is also possible to determine whether the device is connected.

I think it’s realy old one i never use computer that time so i don't know completely.

Hum not really. You are right on the USB ftdi component though.
