Rewards Algo Update We're also updating the rewards algo this week We're no longer going to count deleted casts, reactions, recasts or replies. This means in some cases, people will see scores go down mid-week. We're also making a few other tweaks. Change will roll out later today. The algo is never going to be perfect, but the goal is to reward high signal top-level content on the network—from anyone!

So only top-level casts will count now? Didn't realize that replies were being counted before but I think good replies are good content that's worth rewarding since it brings conversational liquidity to the network which is something that i'd think you'd want to nurture and encourage

That has always been the case. If you incentivize replies, you get massive amount of reply farming. We've already run this experiment multiple times. :)

And by not incentivizing replies, you get massive amounts of quote casting, taking context away from the original post & separating what would have otherwise been a good touch point for people to collectively engage under the same content, rather than across sprawling QC’s that are only trying to gamify the regards mechanics.
