I don’t understand how channels are gated. 

And if they are, I often don’t understand who owns the channel/how to get access to posting there.

Is there a standard for open/closed channels?

PS do you know who started/controls the /fantasy-top channel?

+1 on this. some channels show a “cast” button even if you aren’t a member. But do followers of that channel see those casts? Can’t tell
