The moment "Vibe coding" became a meme it started getting used as an insult to new builders. I personally know coders who were downright offended at work I published because I didn't write it the old-fashioned way and used AI to help me. They were even more offended that the project was recognized by the ecosystem at the time. I understand this sentiment after spending decades learning code the hard way— but that's like photographers who spent years in darkrooms getting mad that digital cameras exist. "Vibe Coding" is the next evolution that minimizes gatekeeping for new devs.

Good watch on this. Moral is everyone can and will be disrupted by new engineers, and that's the beauty of software. It's pure information. Note when I was starting, people were saying the same thing about Javascript and Python, and how they were immature languages for unserious people. Today, everyone uses it. The moral of the story is there are people who want to gatekeep and secure a "union of software tradesmen". The reality is digital technologies are not like that at all, and people who want that should go do something else with their time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecIWPzGEbFc
