not to throw shade a lens but I used to think that open actions were basically the only thing lens had on Farcaster

now not only is it hard to see lens having any major advantage for me, but I’ve also already seen more use cases of frames than open actions in one weekend

i think Lens is cool and am excited for its future but i still can not understand for the life of me why it’s still not permissionless

Yes. I think dwr engages a lot more in general, and that helps steer culture in a more productive direction.

Imho lens is gud tech but somehow failed to gain the culture legitimacy and PMF that @farcaster is quickly gaining

the thing that excites me about lens is the onchain composability

The experience of using Orb is quite awful as well, and there isn’t a better mobile app for it. I think Warpcaster being super close to the Farcaster team (if not the same) was a key major decision that enabled a great experience

It always came off as kind of elitist in how they rolled out. I basically forgot they existed.

I think the main difference is that Farcaster focuses a lot a building a good client early for good UX while Lens has always wanted to be just a protocol. This strategy seems to have paid off well.
