I saw on some news show (don’t remember now) they thought “based” was the far-rights language answer to “woke” as in based it the opposite of woke. Super hope there is no trend in that direction. Some of the lazier left leaning news is so crazy with the idea that crypto is a thing for the right. Crazy times.

Based is a term that was co-opted buy the far right during the peak of the woke movement Definitely don’t associate any of that with “based” personally but it definitely has that connotation to some people It’s interesting that based as a term can mean different things to different people but there’s usually some overlap in what people think based means
