Don't think what Trump is doing on immigration is very popular.

Not at all. Especially since he started with targeting Hispanics. They literally are the core of this country. More than any other demographic

This has been my day one thesis If trump remained committed to this path there was absolutely no way that even the most pro immigration reform people would be able to stomach it for more than a couple months Militarized work place raids and targeting foriegn looking people in traffic are horrible optics and most American voters dont have the stomach for it

All he has to do is start fining and imprisoning employers who use slave labour. No need to snatch people off the streets

America is a nation of immigrants. America’s superpower has always been the combination of immigration and entrepreneurial drive. The list of immigrants and their descendants who founded iconic American companies is long—and still being written.

This mostly hinges on illegal/legal distinction. Legal immigration and the idea of it is very popular. The idea of deporting illegal immigrants is fairly popular. 55% of Americans are in favor of deporting all illegal immigrants. The methods used are probably also a big divide So if Trump follows a policy of just deporting illegals immigrants, it is definitely popular. If he follows a policy of reducing legal immigration, that is very unpopular
