unsure how to feel about onboarding content creators who unload their clip of past work on the network rather than sharing new things as they make them (or just posting normally).

I actually prefer current content not stuff that’s done before. And I think content is either timely or timeless. And a lot of the past work might seem timeless, but is it really? So yeah, algorithm should reward more timely things, but today we are more focused on DAU number go up, and retention

Noticed this too. I think it’s valid and does enhance the network and is friendly to new users, but it does feel a little contrived and hard to grasp any hint of personal narrative

I’m doing a mix of both this week to experiment. some are videos that flopped here last year, but I’m curious if they will perform better in a new fc feed got burnt out of making original content here so I switched to only text/pic content and not as much video.

Recycled/ cross posted content was already a large chunk of FC volume. Video adds a new entry point for a different (perhaps younger) demographic to add the network to their distribution channels. Until FC gains a critical network mass, it's probably not going to get a lot of original content. The current incentive program is taking a lot of mind share from the crew as they play whac-a-mole with the farmers who are incentivized to try and game the system, but isn't really attracting the creators they are after.
