i have overcome many challenges in my life, but the ability to end a phone conversation with my mother still eludes me. i often just have to say "i'm hanging up

i have a great relationship with her outside of my saying "i'm literally pulling up to the drive through" not making it clear to her that she doesn't have time for a 5+ minute "goodbye" that ends up in the middle of some other story about her neighbor i don't care at all about. it's a form of insanity (we all have ours)
