GM โ˜€๏ธ Changing my morning routine to wake up very early at 6am. Lots more can be done and the house is quieter. The key is going to bed earlier. What time do you usually wake up?

Sunday is a running day. Do you prepare the day before with specific foods?

No. I eat nutrient-dense whole food plant-based diet, everyday. So i donโ€™t do anything different the day before a long run. My long runs are at a slow enough pace that I am mostly burning fat, so no need to carbo load. The long runs are fasted โ€” no breakfast, only black coffeeโ€” and for the first 3 hours I usually drink/eat nothing, and after that, only a little. But I am an outlier on that.

Wow, I imagined high carbs at night as that what I heard most. I guess running faster allows your body to use fats as an energy resource, which is best. I would try running more, as you say, at a slower pace and for longer; but recently got a strange pain in my knee that feels like the bone is about to snap and like a rubberband that is at its limit. I've been doing more cycling and using the elliptical machine in the gym more to avoid this pain.
