Random thought: Even if one day we learn how to upload our brains to “the cloud” - doing so wouldn’t actually extend our lives. Because an uploaded version of your brain will never be “you.” You can’t transfer your consciousness to it. So, it would only exist as another version of you.

we call this the teleporter paradox (or some variation thereof) - how you deal with the paradox reveals what /you/ think personal identity depends on (ie, consciousness or a soul or some other immaterial thing). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teletransportation_paradox
