True music fans haven’t taken to music NFT collecting in a way many of us hypothesized— the market is primarily driven by degen speculators who happen to also like music. Meanwhile I really thought it would bring many new people to the space the way NBA Top Shot did with sports fans

I agree. Something is off with the current web3 music offerings. I'm curious what you think the unlock will be

I underappreciated the psychographic diff between sports & music fans wrt: financialization—sports fans are used to it (gambling) while music fans are not (but there’s some philanthropic mindset)

I’ve been also mulling what multi-player-music could look like enabled by web3 (less collectibility, more contribution) but don’t have many concrete thoughts there yet
