True music fans haven’t taken to music NFT collecting in a way many of us hypothesized— the market is primarily driven by degen speculators who happen to also like music. Meanwhile I really thought it would bring many new people to the space the way NBA Top Shot did with sports fans

I underappreciated the psychographic diff between sports & music fans wrt: financialization—sports fans are used to it (gambling) while music fans are not (but there’s some philanthropic mindset) I keep thinking there’s oppty in discovery/funding for up&comers that comes with a “I liked them before they were b

Its just a matter of time and i believe in 1-2 years time we will see compliant music nft with royalties distribution embedded, which opens up the experience to be much more compelling for collectors - not only pure flipping, rather becoming a rewarded fab base
