I got in a little friendly argument with my mom tonight about paying my brother Thomas who passed 2025 taxes. She insists that it’s the right thing to do. But, I disagree. He’s dead. He doesn’t owe them anything and I think he would agree. How do yall feel about this, regardless of what’s legal?

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m more on your mom side. Not because your brother owe something to government but mostly because I would be worried that one day they can ask to pay it to your parents + interests.

My feelings is to send them to fvk themselves. My mind says different. I lost my brother in 2018 and when my mom still receives stuff from government the rage is real. That should be a delete button when people die, we’re already grieving for that.

Yeah that’s always a concern for sure. She’s gonna pay them whether I like it or not and I don’t care that much. Just curious how others feel about the issue of dead people owing taxes still.
