A “like” that has no value produces a signal that has no meaning. What if each “like” assigned cost you 0.1 warps? Or cost some fractional ownership of an NFT you own? Would a tiny bit of friction be so bad if produced a better signal?

It would be an interesting mechanic if people got an allowance of likes, maybe 10 a day, with a cap of 100 or so total. It seems like that would help keep interactions balanced.

How do you tell if a like has no value or a lot of value? The only obvious one to me is if it’s a bot.

I don’t think any version of the like button or function really has value. Share it to your network if you have nothing to say, reply if you do have something to say. That’s my take anyway…interested to be proven wrong!
