This got me thinking about company perks. What’s the best perk or benefit a company you worked for offered? For me, I worked at Cornerstone and they offered everyone a 7 week sabbatical after 7 years of employment. There’s so much you can do in 7 weeks that you can’t do in a typical 1-2 week vacation. It’s short enough that you don’t forget anything and can rejoin without skipping a beat. It’s long enough that the company has to learn to survive without you. Our CEO was famous for saying no one is irreplaceable including him. It sounds bleak was actually positive and motivating. And it forces a stress test on the company’s systems and processes to make sure no single person is a single point of failure.

You started working at 18? I worked at Aon (also insurance) in my 20s and also got a pension. I took a lump sum about 5 years after I left when it was offered to me and invested it in the stock market
