Anybody in Berlin know of the Ausbildungsplatzumlage? 

Is it true that if Berlin does not reach the target number of apprenticeships by EoY 2025 then all companies based in Berlin will face an extra tax to punish them for not offering enough apprenticeships?

It sounds absurd that all companies have to pay it.

Yeah, 1 hour after I posted this I checked my mailbox and we had a message to rotki from IHK (chamber of commerce), warning us against this and telling us to help them fight it.

sigh ... yet more taxes for small businesses to pay

I know that it is true. There is a fund. If Berlin doesn’t reach the 2000 new positions, all companies have to pay to this fund. The companies that do have trainees can benefit and get something form the fund. But I don’t know how far Berlin is to reach the goal.
