Back when I was in school, my dad used to help me with all my assignments. No matter how tired he was after work, he’d sit with me and go through everything, especially math. He had a way of breaking things down that made it easier for me to understand.
One time, he taught me a method to solve a particular type of math problem. I used that method during a quiz, but when I got the paper back, the teacher had marked it wrong, even though the answer was correct.
I told my dad what happened, and without any fuss, he came to school the next day. He calmly explained the method to my teacher, step by step. After a short discussion, the teacher agreed that it was a valid approach and gave me back the marks.
I still smile when I think about it. My dad really had my back. 1 reply
