Some days I feel like untouchable and other days, my kid is about to blow my gasket. Tips on keeping it cool? Already worked out :)

Try. Try. Try again. I try to remember that they aren't TRYING to push my buttons. They are certainly trying to manipulate but not in a malicious way. Purely in a sense making way. I try to respond, rather than react. Natural consequences are appropriate. My anger is not. And I apologize when I fall short.

it's shocking how quickly kids rebound, forgive and keep wanting your attention after you blow a gasket. but i guess it's also because of that lack of regard that you blew a gasket in the first place π my long way of saying I'm also looking for tips!

Itβs so tough some days. Iβve been getting good mileage out of the tidbit that little kids arenβt manipulative, we just vastly overestimate their emotional intelligence. Theyβre hyper-social blank slates who have no clue how to act in the group. My job is to be cool/model and teach through lots of repetition.
