It is fascinating what your kids can show you about your own mental state.

Try. Try. Try again. I try to remember that they aren't TRYING to push my buttons. They are certainly trying to manipulate but not in a malicious way. Purely in a sense making way. I try to respond, rather than react. Natural consequences are appropriate. My anger is not. And I apologize when I fall short.

it's shocking how quickly kids rebound, forgive and keep wanting your attention after you blow a gasket. but i guess it's also because of that lack of regard that you blew a gasket in the first place 😆

It’s so tough some days. 
I’ve been getting good mileage out of the tidbit that little kids aren’t manipulative, we just vastly overestimate their emotional intelligence. They’re hyper-social blank slates who have no clue how to act in the group. My job is to be cool/model and teach through lots of repetition.
