It’s so tough some days.
I’ve been getting good mileage out of the tidbit that little kids aren’t manipulative, we just vastly overestimate their emotional intelligence. They’re hyper-social blank slates who have no clue how to act in the group. My job is to be cool/model and teach through lots of repetition.
