Anatomy of a load. 200-250lbs of gear and food, bear boxes to keep that food un-eaten by bears, ropes, tarps, elaborate and specific knots. A load can ride 25 miles on rough trail if packed properly. There was a full sweet potato pie, a $200 bottle of scotch, and 2 personal-sized watermelons in this load.

You can! I work at a legacy Pack Outfit called Rock Creek and am organizing a few trips this summer. I'll share when I get the website up and running next week.

hmmm, California is quite a trip from Europe. But I'll keep it in mind. Do you know of anything similar or other cool nature stuff to do in Wisconsin? Ideally something that is on the way to Minnesota (so not the north east)
