j came back from a no phone retreat upstate!

my bf asked me how it was & the only way i could describe it was: “if i was a phone, and my battery health was at 80%, it’s now at 90”.

no crazy revelation, well except
- my sleep was SO FREAKIN GOOOOOOOUD like 4 diff dreams a night kinda deep
- i’m realizing i gotta be more intentional about my academics next semester per my professor’s advice (no more >18 credits, courses enriching my existing core values & aspirations)
- and i love the smell of upstate ny in the morning. the dew, the slight cold, the freshness of the smoky air. sigh. i love it.

that being said, i love this place aaaaand (not “but” because that would make the last statement not true) i gotta be less active. it’s weird bc i think replying to diff people is what leads to my deepest convos here buttttt wait i mean ANNNDDD i gotta touch grass so i can be more intentional w my activity here b4 it turns into pure consumption. yk?

This is where certain religious practices are very interesting to me. For instance, forbidding the usage of electrical devices on Shabbat. Someone once framed this to me as a coordinated moment for the mind and earth to rest.
