I like: the central team makes a valueless nft indie devs make novel and possibly rewarding experiences, uncoordinated, competing with each other for attention and capital, building muscles for critical thinking me: will trade it better if I have it to start, than if I only try to figure it out later and a sly reminder: Merkle spent eng resources to give us mute words. they could have been planning how to drop us genny welly, but no, they made mute words. Are you suggesting I pre mute the names of hacky tokens in advance Art? I’m not a mind reader. And I know how these things go. They blow over fast. It’s whatever. I am just irritated because it’s a problem when a handful of people share their crossword score. It’s a problem when someone ships their first ever app and because it’s Harry Potter it’s “a turn off to new users”. But flooding — and I mean flooding — the feed with a shitcoin ad is supposed to be ok to said new users, who can’t even claim it? The dev rewards are so biased towards onchain tx that none of my favorites rank. So that’s whatever too

no, but mute the viral hack as soon as you decide you don't want to participate, I guess? Idk, I've never muted a thing. But I build alt feeds. I think none of the FAFO energy you describe is a problem. If there's some purity test or tone policing, it's on us to push back against it with our tools. I agree with you on the dev algo. It's an improvable incentive structure. I hate the dev rewards as much as I hate everyone quote casting to game the algo. One algo with no choice sucks. Long live the algos competing against each other. Iron sharpens iron.
