how do yâall deal with IRL crypto sceptics? today at a pre wedding dinner i ended up having a crypto convo 𫣠(which is just as bad as talking about religion or politics) itâs cos i mentioned im going to cannes so it was kinda unavoidable i was put under the spotlight to answer these questions - whatâs a usecase for the blockchain apart from those âape NFTsâ - facebook invested billions in the metaverse and that was a fail so why do people still bother? - whatâs the point of crypto when itâs so volatile? - whoâs using it every day? - why is it better than normal banking? - whats the point of a âcrypto social mediaâ if tiktok pays creators already? - you canât pay for this dinner using crypto if you offered the waiter stablecoin it would be impossible bro worked in finance aswell so it was like an exam phew im pretty sure i passed the exam but was quite eye opening to see a different perspective everyone ive ever spoken to irl (usually my age) have been super interested so it was first time having an experience like this

I usually try to avoid disclosing to strangers that I work there. I also agree with these skeptic takes so I usually end up agreeing. I anyways try to correct them on blatant falsehoods but donât insist bc I feel self confident about my knowledge. Anyways for me avoidance is it

i like this. also relating to their skepticism from a place of curiosity instead of trying to convince them will teach you more about life than the other way around (enforcing your beliefs is ego talking and trying to defend itself)

agree. And tbh their skepticism I would also take as truth because at the end of the day if they have this opinion about our industry it probably comes from somewhere. I think we provide many examples of where they feel validated in their accusations. So maybe we do have to change to be respected
