Similar situations here, both myself and my partner are freelance workers without a 9-5 and it's definitely hard spending that much time together, and also having the house as an office, but it has given us flexibility to spend time with the kids as they've grown up, which a lot of people don't, and to not have bosses, and to be able to essentially work when we want to, for as long as we want to. The flip side of that is no fixed income, which can be stressful, the house is often quite disorganised, and you end up spending so much time together you begin to find it hard to appreciate each other in the same ways as before. It's tough to find the balance, but neither of us want to change our work situations, so we've got to just try to focus on the positives. When the kids are a little bit older we might look at renting office space away from the home, but we just don't have the money for it right now. 1 reply
