Something doesn't feel right today. I don't think it's my knee, it could be part of it, but it's not entirely that, but there's something off. On my knee - it was really hurting last night, so I began massaging around the bone and under the knee cap and it immediately felt better so I think it's an issue that I can easily alleviate with a bit of dedicated stretching. I hate stretching, though, so no idea if I'll ever get round to it.
I want to do 10, but because something feels off, at the back of my mind, I know it's going to be impossible. The first five kms of the run, are, however, pretty enjoyable. Pretty much like the run on Tuesday, it all feels kind of easy. Which is crazy compared to how this distance felt just a month ago. I remember those hard runs just to get round to 5km. I remember reliving them afterwards writing about them and wondering how the fuck I actually got through them.
And now here I am, the first 5km a breeze, and from 5km onwards I'm in trouble. The same as Tuesday. At exactly 2 replies

First 10km of straight running in what must be two years. I'll have to check that but it's around about that long.
I'm still about sore from the speed work at the weekend, and I've got a new niggle in the lower part of my left, I think either from that 5km or from chasing my kid around the park. She's getting faster and it's getting harder for me to keep up with her. Amazing. Always dreamed of running races with her one day, I think we may be getting closer to that point than I'd realised. She's fast too.
Anyway. Today was a tale of two halves. First five km was fucking ace. Felt amazing, thought I could go on forever, felt like I was flying around the park. Second five km was tough. 5km - 6km felt more like a km and a half, and at 8km in I actually didn't think I'd make it.
I'm stubborn, though. You probably know that by now if you've been reading these running reports. I'm also fitter, I've got the kms in my legs (as they say), and I've got better stamina. It hurts, though, there's no denying it. 1 reply
