lyme house 📍 this house was built in the 1500’s and was revamped in 1700’s it was the family home of sir piers legh (who wasn’t a king or anything he was just really rich) the house was passed through many generations …until they could no longer afford the tax and gave it to the national trust so people can explore it today

I love these old estates and that they are preserved so the public can enjoy them.

yes!! these designs were sculpted by wood the man who worked there told me that they are cleaned once a year with a tiny brush and it takes up to 6 weeks to clean all of them!
