I think one unspoken angle to Musk's politics on twitter is to let violent footage flow freely, perhaps to alert people to the reality of instances of localised violence - bit alarmist but it's intended result will be more popular demand to clamping down on criminality, exposing the leadership vacuum of politicians.

It’s fascinating to watch what’s playing out in Brazil & Australia in while Congress is pushing the TikTok “ban”. Politicians haven’t tried this hard since they tried to tax email.
