Perhaps yeah. Matt's stepped in it for a bit now with the WP Engine stuff and has seemed to indicate a changing commitment - wonder if this is the expansion. Only other thing I can squint at is that the network of content is a source of info for part of what Clay was indexing and maybe this pipelines that.

Can imagine Matt would like Automattic to be in the news for something other than WPE :/ Their own press release is pretty direct, hadnโ€™t heard they called it their Other Bets division, worth a chuckle: โ€œJoining our Other Bets division alongside the likes of Beeper and Gravatar, weโ€™ll tackle relationship management and messaging to deliver richer, more personalized experiences.โ€ And this is the panopticon that so many want :/ โ€œClay will be the only intelligent relationship management tool to leverage messaging data at scale and work across multiple channels.โ€
