any thoughts on the Farcaster markets in wake of recent development out here? 😏

i spent a dozen hours listening to dan talk (podcasts and his own writing). never did i hear him explain "why farcaster" and "why him" -- not once. he talks about farcaster the way he would any other software product but never why this, why him, what's the point or goals besides success metrics (dau, mau, meow, moo, etc etc).

farcaster isn't his mission. it's just his /business/ 🥃

Feek like a hype machine with very little substance behind it. IMO

Degen It was genuinely fun until Jacek over complicated it into something no one asked for.

Moxie All hype, no real value.

Clanker Cool at first, but quickly lost its appeal.

mini apps interesting, but they’re not going to bring in real users.

Coinbase wallet integration Let’s be honest no one really cares.

The real issue IMO is identity.

What is Farcaster?
A social network? 
A playground for experiments that end in VC pitches? 
A place to farm users and dump on them later?

There’s no clear core value and Dan’s attitude doesn’t help. He treats user like option. Don’t like it? Build your own client or leave.

This isn’t random bad luck it’s a pattern.

if jacek can actually bring his app to life, i'll try it out. it's easy for me to pivot to alternative apps now... since i barely use warpcast 🤭

ya I dunno, there has been a weird cycle of controversies on here about $Zora, $Clanker, etc.

$Degen is my mainstay too and just interested in your thoughts broadly. excited about what jacek is doing for the new app, might create a new place to post/cast.

referring specifically to the proxy controversy? if so, nothing useful; i don't own any clanker per se. and besides degen, i don't own much equity in farcaster (coins, etc). on the flip side, farcaster doesn't control my mindshare like it once did. i'm outta the loop and happier for it.
