here's some very scattered thoughts after hearing that degen is creating their own client that will be the only method to tip your own $degen in the future (after the vault and allowance features are deprecated). i'm just not sure how many more clients that farcaster needs right now. i like recaster, super, and can't wait for coinbasewallet to leave beta once additional features are added i think having a separate degen client with the primary purpose to tip your own degen will be a very small edge case. i'm probably not going to go to another client to search for a cast that i found in another client in order to tip someone, when i can do that with mini apps or @bankr i could very well be wrong and hope changing things up helps $degen in the long term.

It’s unfortunate that at this juncture the move is made. Early Maybe. But others tried. Failed. The barn door was too wide open for too long IMO. And the pivot too late. Could work as a product. But market cap screams something else. Needs the what if. A client is very much able to be quantified IMO. And that value is lower. $wild

I think $WILD was an innovative stab and something interesting, but it was very much based on V1 tipping tokens - they didn't have the financing to see it through anyways, from what I can tell. I think what Degen is doing puts it in the category of 'consumer social' with a Web 3 twist, which carries the highest multiplier in tech in many cases, outside of maybe AI. So I think if the experiment actually works, the sky is the limit. I actually think if all they did was optimize it to tip on here it would die anyways, it is too niche of a use case to sustain. I think it is better to take the shot and see what happens with it, as they have a full product team IRL now and at least 24 months of runway without the need for revenue. Overall, I think it mostly sucks building a community on here, and while I do enjoy my time, I think a new client is what is needed, but not in the Twitter style with a lot of "apps," simpler will be better.

I’m rooting for $degen My vault unlocked on the 10th. Ironically. I sold 1/3 put 1/3 in beefy. And hodling naked 1/3.
