Two things that are criminally understated in product building are onboarding and notifications. Itโ€™s a slog and been one of the hardest lifts weโ€™ve done (so far lmao). If users have too many screens to go through: they quit. If users get too many notifs: the mute you, youโ€™re done.

If you have good discovery and recommendations, you donโ€™t need notifications. The product sells itself. We had virtually zero notifications during my first couple years at Spotify.
