for me the match questions are a little too surface level. i'd like for intori to potentially pull in my cast history on topics i care about and match me with other people casting about these things (at least i think that's how i'd do it)

Yes! Topic questions are weighted more currently and location questions weighted higher than topics. 

We started with all common so they outnumber Topic questions for now, but won’t be the same as we continue to add more.

One way is to keep the existing questions but change weights based on how common or uncommon an answer is. Common way is with TFIDF

Good feedback. The surface level was by design as default for new people getting familiar with the app. Then we added Topics that allow for deeper info.

I could see pulling in cast history in some capacity. How early in the usage of the app would you like to see deeper questions? 

We start with 20 pre-set ice breakers that we can swap out some of the more general “what do you do on a lazy afternoon” type questions.

The mid interests is interesting. My thoughts are with enough general stated preference interests we could use ML to batch and match with similar personas. 

Always open to adding more categories of questions too! We have a good batch a golf related questions per community request.

Let me clarify that my general interests are super mid and I had this same issue when I was dating apps. There are a crap ton of people who like food and coffee and it tells me virtually nothing about another person I’m meeting by matching on these things

Not against the questionnaire model but I think we can rethink the questions a little

There’s an app already like that but something was missing from it. 

I agree that the questions are surface level. Maybe people discovery could be layered? If there’s a surface level match, then you can decide to go deeper (cast history).

I’m also wondering if it makes sense to introduce triplets (3 people to each other). Or to create an activity for 3 or 4 people who match.

Good idea. We wanted to simplify the process in early versions of the app to keep the confusion at a minimum. Going forward I agree we could give people more control.

One area we are exploring is having a plus tier where accounts apply and can pay for an elevated experience where you have the option to only show other plus level accounts.

Also with insights allow these users to rate their own insights to show their level of value to each. This way we can give you more questions and more matches based on those preferred insights. Thoughts?

or give option or fork-in-road at beginning to offer "surface or deep?"
