Re: dedegen and my position on the mod squad Dear @jacek, In season 6, you rolled out a new system you hadn't quite properly thought through. Last minute, you caved to the biggest whales. You told users to lock up their precious degen and receive an allowance to do what they want with. So they did. They opened up channels for "tip-for-tip" and "401k matching" (which you condoned). You misaligned incentives with the site's most active users, and now degen is being exploited by the people you bent the knee to. NOW, you have appointed a select group of people to clean up this mess with subjective standards and burdened us with the responsibility of deciding "what's right." If you want to unlock people's money and change the rules, fine. But I won't be a part of this. Sincerely, Burr

I'm not one to second guess tough decisions. You can't please everyone with a project this big. Founders will always be forced to balance the needs of stakeholders in ways that aren't always obvious. That being said, self appointing people into a role as important and tedious as moderators, in the name of credible neutrality, in the midst of controversy was always going to have a rocky outcome. Burr's frustrations aren't new, but you put her in a position where she was responsible for the resolution of them, after removing her ability to address the problem she identified in the first place. While you may not agree, there is something to what she is saying, and is was a missed opportunity responding with "everything is fine, don't let door hit you in the ass". You could have engendered much more confidence from her and a community that tracks every word you say. Unless ofc that's not a priority. I don't interact with you, but have high regard for others in your orbit, so must assume good intentions ☮️

Passive aggressive take. One of your most well respected community members/holders is using her platform to voice something a large number of people have been feeling. And instead of acknowledging the missteps or flaws in the new system, or apologizing for assuming she’d wanna retroactively police this new and inherently bad system (for free), you tell her “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out”? Some humility and accountability would be ideal, but at the very least, have some empathy. It took balls to say what she did. I’m sure it’s not easy building in public, but I saw some hats come off today in the aftermath of your response. It’s not too late to right the ship. I’m hoping you start to listen with wide open ears.

This is almost money washing, I thought you guys would admit when something went wrong but seems like I am the one in the wrong place afterall

In the words of Andy Dufresne, how can you be so obtuse?? You’ve said that you want a community with quality engagement. But you continue to allow farming, which is quite simply antithetical to that premise. And when @burrrrrberry brings you well considered thoughts, you tell her to go f herself?! She is a community builder. She teaches people every day how to be high quality casters. She is also one of the only people who continues to embrace Alfafrens. Ever since your knee jerk reaction at the end of season 5, FC has been a wildly shifting, unpredictable place. I myself have been trying to talk people off the ledge when they were working their asses off for a 5 degen allo. I did that bc I believe in the processes developers go through, open source, and giving people agency. You have that. Why are you ok with casually alienating people who champion this amazing place?? WHAT DO YOU WANT? It’s a fair question.

I havent not spoken to a single person who is happy with this season personally and I think you've managed to push turn off supporters for good with this whale focused system. I completely agree with Burr. I'd highly recommend having a chat with more users, maybe smaller players who locked their hard earned degen and are left with barely no allo thanks to whales locking millions and now regret doing it.

this is such a tone def out of touch response to a valid concern, it's only well received by the wealthy and tip farmers... you must be living in a tightly controlled bubble to actually believe this i had much higher hopes for you and this token than this, hella dissapointed in you you've turned it into a classist and anti artist slap in the face it takes a lot of nerve to act like it's a great idea that's supported by the community who helped build this token up over the past months, when most of us have been asking for an equitable system for the last months this version is the biggest failure yet in a system that just keeps getting worse

I really don't think there has to be moderation, this time its fair, the biggest holders, the ones with the skin in the game and taking the bigger risks are farming it, good, is their time to shine... Everyone was farming it, now the allowances are for the ones truly holding... for now its fair...

@burrrrrberry @bitfloorsghost.eth et al, Let me put my babbling hat on. I see validity in both sides of the equation. It sounds like the formula for this season is flawed. This moderation looks like an attempt from the community to solve some of the flaws. The first thing I assume that would be handled is fixing that one guys tipping ring to stop that from being viable. @wake , I cannot tag jacek so I will tag you and @cadillion as adjacent. I’d be perplexed to see that jacek would outright condone that act (anyone can correct me!) But community management feels like a good first step in my opinion. Relying on Openrank is a thought. Makes it less iffy for bad actors who accumulated a massive amount of tokens just to be donkeys. But anyone new will have a tough time getting in the game. Relying on just staking can make it fair in some aspects, because you’re not relying solely algorithms, however you then need to make sure that folks aren’t pulling stunts.

You chose a few powerful or popular figures as moderators. Based on locking up a certain amount or because they are yes people? Thy police the content? What defines good content anyway? If I live in Asia or Europe, I might not relate to Australian, Latam, or American culture. Opinions differ based on geographic location. Also, I haven't participated from the start because forcing people to lock up degen in an unproven protocol is ridiculous and reckless. I mean the number of hacks and other risks. Anyway

I'm relatively new to warpcast, but have been in the crypto art space for over 3 years, and have been trying to just go with the flow on all the rapid changes happening. That being said I don't know one artist here that is happy with this new tipping system. It's completely removed the engagement incentive that was the core of the degen/warpcast relationship and does nothing but allow the "rich" to get richer and increases the ability to farm and work the system. To say its been well received is just inaccurate and coming from your position comes off pretty condescending. This has me questioning all of it tbh...

How are they in a healthier position? When the OpenRank score dictated the allowance, they were all going to real users who (mostly) have the tips out the right way. Now we’re watching probably half of the daily total allowance go to farms of people with their alt accounts. That doesn’t seem healthier at all. The only problem with the previous system was that it was hard for new/small accounts to break out. A hybrid system that kept a social score, and gave new/small accounts an opportunity to have more than 3-5 allowances would be significantly better than this current one. Watching our Allo drop every day brings zero positive emotions, only negative ones. I don’t want to keep depositing and resetting a 3 month clock to maintain an allowance. TLDR - I don’t think this system is remotely close to “healthier” tbh.
