AI and robotics are about to usher in the greatest age of abundance humanity has ever seen.
Elon predicts that in 10 to 20 years work will be optional and money will stop being relevant, because robots will do nearly everything, and better than us.
Even his best case for superintelligent AI is that we end up as its house cats.
The irony is the road there. After using the latest coding models, I don't see most programmers having jobs in 2 to 5 years, and most office jobs will follow.
So between now and abundance we get either an economic depression, a gradual shift to universal basic income, or a third scenario none of us can see yet.
The real question: what do humans do when there's nothing we have to do?
Crazy and interesting times ahead.
