One of the reasons why I cast and blog and generally try to publish thoughts on the internet is I see it as a contribution to the future. I’m not deranged enough to think people in the future will care about me as an individual, but they will want to know what life was like in general in the 2000s. Of course there are enough people doing this today and one more person won’t change anything, but at the same time, every person is unique so why not contribute? I’m reading a book about events from the 1200s and there are so few first person written accounts which means certain details will never be known and can only be imagined.

Yup, that too. I have my grandfathers memoirs from his war years and my favorite parts or just when he shares mundane things like how much a meal or a hotel in nyc cost back then.
