LinkedIn recently (and quietly) added this data tracking setting and turned it on by default for everyone. 

It’s a dark pattern that and some of their own employees have been calling them out (link below).

If you prefer not to give away all of your data to LinkedIn’s new product development efforts, you can and should opt out.

If you set a job alert, and then went to turn off nots, you will get a dozen of options, also read a lot nagging about it on reddit for example

you found unsubscribing to be intentionally complicated? i haven't gone through that flow myself
