fc coins getting rekt as daus dwindle & ct dances around a tba tombstone base pushed zora way too aggressively, integrating a mid-7th pivot platform into an $80b pubco app release at the most fundamental level of usage with zero validation & against a wall of external & thoughtful criticism… it’s unheard of as a result, the two have become inseparable & “base app” has now lost its brand name, barely a year in — but users this & that, see: world fc chose to build against its core tam for over two years & destroyed its public perception in the process; now a token is the only way out base learned nothing from farcasters shortcomings & chose to push creator coins from the very top; now a token is the only way out no one asked farcaster nor base to CREATE net-new creators; this is crypto the long-term sustainability of tba & certainly now fc given the wallet upgrades does NOT depend on net-new creators this is crypto; we’re building crypto apps it doesn’t have to be like this, ya know all both of y’all had to do was build for the devs… they will literally do your job for you; all you need to do is listen & support them

fc as a protocol doesn’t die, just evolves crypto apps need a home, my bet is that devs will build those here (it’s still the best place to do so but think wallets are starting to scope app support; would make sense) seems like tba becomes nothing unless it’s reeled in, communicated with a new concentrate vision & provisioned aggressively by base/cb (they hired too much web2 & lost the vision; cb as a whole seems to be burdened by this drag for a few yeas now) abstract can potentially make a run with a vampire strat if they’re paying attn; world will chug along throughout row incrementally probably something i’m not seeing; i don’t really get out of this eco too much… our goal is to create & compound productive assets so no matter what happens next, that’s what we’ll do

the web2 talent will scale tba once these new normies are here. the question is this: will the time window in this even extended bull market be enough? I admire the bold vision of brian jessee to bet the house on the next wave of consumer adoption. they also know stuff that we don't. but for now, we are in that painful liminal place, where base lost many from the existing cohort of crypto-natives and the new blood is not here yet. this is mirrored in builders like @tldr who is building bracky for people who genuinely want to use this app, and need the token as a pre-requisite. And as long as those users are more or less confined to faracster, the size of DAUs here might be the ceiling. I was betting on tba to 10x to 100x the distro of such apps. Until tba gets out of beta (or an app like bracky hits bigger stages on X) we'll simmer in what feels like a luke-warm soup. I am still here, still convinced that consumer crypto will be a next meta. BUT w/o substantial marketing might from CB that meta might only last for 3 months, then bear. Ok, we can come back in 2028 then lol.

i think farcaster needs to onboard a lot of solana communities. twitter, telegram, all of that meta is fading because what you're saying about attention not being sustainable is true. farcaster seems to exude more permanency and the people who are daus here are here all day every day. If the trenches had a place... it could be here. There is less noise for them at this stage and all it would take is one big solana star to come here. @alon x @tedzhar
