I have a friend from way back that I've known for 25+ years now and he's high up in the U.S. Air Force. We don't see eye to eye on domestic politics and often not on international politics either, but I've always trusted him more than anyone else when it comes to matters related to information regarding military operations. That said, he is echoing what Marco Rubio has said tonight in so far as Israel acting unilaterally in its attack on Iran. He says Israel has one of the best militaries in the world and has been planning tonight's attack for years. I was curious about the F-35 and it's use tonight. He says he guarantees Israel used it tonight. He agrees Iran has significant drone and missile capabilities but says that is mostly in terms of numbers and not in terms of accuracy.

The US has sold F-35 to Israel, a number of European countries, Singapore, etc

Canada has been in line for years for F35s. I think we’re committed to getting a few but the total planned number has been cancelled. I think we’re going with the griphon instead. I suspect an official announcement on that soon. Countries can’t afford the risk that a potentially hostile “ally” might bug the software.

Yea, we are due to take a few F-35s next year and then some in 2028-2030. I honestly hope they cancel some of those later ones.
