Only way he can meaningfully interfere with Trump’s presidency now is if his new political party gains seats in the midterms, no? To achieve that, he’d need solid candidates, and right now it not sure who’d want to align to Musk given how mercurial and radioactive he is. If I were a shareholder in any of Musk’s businesses, though, I’d be pretty bummed. Every time Musk disentangles himself from politics, he jumps right in, at the expense of his fiduciary duty to his shareholders

Musk can genuinely go to hell, but part of me wants to see this new part succeed. Anything to break up the tug of war that has landed us in this mess to begin with. On the other hand, I get the feeling his new party will be just Republican 2.0, if it goes anywhere at all.
