The price of a crypto asset matters if you own it already. 

It doesn't matter if you don't own it. It's downstream of market cap.

Hypothetical (unlikely to happen) -- Bitcoin does a 2:1 stock split. There are now 42 million BTC. Everyone 2x their balance.

The price is now 50% lower but the market cap stays the same.

I do get what Dan is saying, though. People need to learn about what a stock split is. Or burn, in the case of crypto (I do maintain that coin/token whose main function is burn is probably not gonna prosper)
