Founder tip of the day: look less busy.

At the events in Toronto and New York, people kept calling me a hustler.

Not the first time. Probably not the last.

I am always working.
Managing the team. Closing new deals. Delivering for clients.

But honestly. That is a problem.
Being too busy is not the goal.
It means I need better processes.
More revenue. More delegation.

Every time someone calls me a hustler, it reminds me.
It's just the beginning 🥲

Please 🙏 If you've figured out how to step back from day-to-day execution and scale your business without burning out, I'd love to hear how you did it.

I think one of the problems is that if you're always talking about yourself and just trying to find the next, better person who will listen to you it can also come off like you're not the kind of person who actually listens to or cares about what the other person is saying.

There's a fine line between passionate and predator, lol.

Definitely, sorry didn't mean to make an accusation - I know I can be guilty of over-pitching too, haha.

As for the being present, then to me it's a simple matter:  If being there made sense, then be there.. otherwise you don't really need to be there if the other work is too much.  Why spend time and money otherwise?

I forget who it was, I think it was the Thirdweb founder, who said that founders who haven't found PMF don't belong at conferences.  A bit of a harsh take, but also not entirely false.

Just to clarify, I am not even pitching most of the time.
People call me a hustler because they literally see me working: handling operations, team questions, client needs, right there in front of them. Because I have to.

The truth is, I would love to be more present, take time for deeper conversations, and really listen. But right now I am still too caught in the day to day to make space for that. That is actually what I am trying to fix.
